A Memorial For Debra

On behalf of the Ferreira family,
we would like to thank our family and friends for all you
love, support and prayers.

We would like to share a day
to remember our very much loved
daughter, sister, aunt and friend
with all of her loved ones.

A service will be held at:
St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church
14085 Peyton Dr., Chino Hills, CA 91709
On Saturday, Septemer 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m.

Immediately following the service per Debra's request
she asked that we all come together to celebrate
all the great times we have shared with her.
Her wish was to be able to look down on us on this day
to see us laugh and smile about the good times we have shared together.

The celebration picnic will be held at
Heritage Park
4210 Chino Ave.
Chino, CA 91710

We will be coordinating a menu if everyone will contribute to.
Please contact Michelle Fuentes at (626) 862-7217
We ask that every family bring an EZ up and chairs.
We look forward to celebrating our traditional
day at the park filled with
food, family, friends and games as
Debra has always enjoyed.

A monetary gift in lieu of flowers on behalf of
Debra Ferreira would be very much appreciated.

God saw our extraordinary woman
"Debra Lynn Ferreira"
Getting tired and a cure were not to be.
On August 26, 2009
He put his arms around her and whispered
"Come To Me".
Although we all could not bear to lose her
We know that she is in a peaceful place.
We know that Debra's courage and strength
Is something we all admire.
We have learned what the true meaning of an
"Extraordinary Woman"
Truly means.

Deb ...In the Arms of Angels Now

Debbie passed away on Wednesday night at 8:17pm surrounded by her family and a couple of friends. She had been in great pain that day and of course a long time before that, but passed away peacefully "with a smile on her face" they said. She fought this fight so long and so hard and felt that on Wednesday morning, she was ready to be in the hands of her precious Lord.

Please pray for the entire Ferreira Family and extended family and friends who miss her so very much. Gene and Tina (Mom and Dad) appreciate all of the heartfelt prayers and love you have shown Deb during her hards times and all through her life. Please pray that we would all be inspired by Deb's genuine courage fighting so hard and so long.

There is a tentative date of September 19th, Saturday for a "Celebration of her Life". Her sister Michelle will keep us informed and I will update here. Deb wanted no mourning for her passing, but rather a happiness and celebration of a Mass on Saturday at the church followed by a lot of gathering and kids running around at a park nearby.

Debs update

As my last post stated we had an appointment on Thursday June 4, 2009. As a result she had an infection and the doctor felt it was necessary to admit her to clear the infection. As of today the infection has been cleared and she is scheduled to be released from the hospital tomorrow. She will continue to do her regular scheduled appointments for dialysis and following all necessary doctor appointments. I thank you for all your prayers and support and ask that you continue to pray for my sister which I feel helps make her strong. I also wanted to inform you to look forward to our future fundraisers to come. I will be posting the events on this blog and you will also receive information in the mail.

Thank you
Michelle

Deb's update!

I just wanted to update everyone as to where Deb is right now with her treatments. She has not had Chemo since the seizures. Her doctor has requested that she have a CT scan last week and tomorrow we meet with her doctor for the results. Hopefully good news. She is scheduled for chemo tomorrow and she is still having dialysis every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. She now has a kidney and a Neurologist specialist following her treatment as well. She has a very busy schedule and with all your prayers and support my sister will beat this battle.

Thank you and I love you all!

Deb's update!

I know that there are so many of you concerned about my sister that call or don't call because you don't want to bother. So, I would like to keep y0u all updated. On April 27th Deb was rushed to the hospital for those of you that may or may not know she had 2 seizures. She was released from the hospital on Saturday and is home now. She is doing fine and the test results came back with no explanation as to why she had those seizures. She is sill doing dialysis 3 times a week and we have held off on her kemo until she meets with her cancer doctor at USC hospital on May 14th. She has an appetite which is good and she is gradually eating but she is still being fed by her port with the TPN fluid every night. Today was a good day for her she was in the yard helping my mom and I pot some flowers, which I think she really enjoyed. She was able to get some fresh air and her hands a little dirty. Today Deb also mentioned that she would like to attend Shelly's fundraiser cutathon on May 17th and get her hair trimmed. So for anyone attending we hope to see you there. I will continue to keep you all updated on the prognosis of her appointment on May 14Th. Thank you again for all your prayers and kind thoughts. We love you all.

Love,

Michelle

What a day of Celebration!

I just wanted to post a huge thank you to each and everyone of you that attended, donated and help put this beautiful luncheon together on April 26th for my sister. It was such a wonderful day. I think everyone that attended can truly say it was a day filled with love, happiness and motivation that my sister will overcome this battle. All the prayers and love I felt in the room touched my heart and I would like to thank you all. I will post the pictures from this day once I have received them so everyone can remember and enjoy that wonderful day.

Love,
Michelle
